How much does senior transportation cost?
Fares are based on distance and the level of assistance you need. Every ride is quoted personally — call us at (803) 926-7933 or request a ride online and we'll give you a clear price before you book. No surge pricing, no surprises.
What areas does Senior Express serve?
We serve the Columbia, SC Midlands: Richland, Lexington, and Kershaw Counties — including Columbia, Lexington, Cayce, West Columbia, Irmo, Chapin, Camden, Lugoff, and surrounding communities. Not sure if you're in our area? Give us a call and we'll let you know.
Do you have wheelchair-accessible vehicles?
Yes. Our wheelchair-accessible vehicles let you ride comfortably seated in your own wheelchair — no transfers required. Just let us know when booking so we send the right vehicle for you.
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking at least a few days ahead so we can match you with the right driver and vehicle — especially for recurring rides like dialysis. Need something sooner? Call us and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Do you accept insurance or Medicare?
We do not file insurance or Medicare directly. However, we can provide an itemized statement of charges for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Do I have to be a senior to ride?
No. While our specialty is caring for older adults, we transport anyone who needs reliable, assisted, door-to-door service — including people recovering from outpatient procedures or those who simply prefer a driver who stays with them.
Will the driver wait with me during my appointment?
Yes — that's what makes us different from a rideshare or taxi. Our drivers provide door-to-door assistance, walk you inside, and can wait with you through your appointment before driving you home safely.
Can I schedule recurring rides?
Absolutely. Many of our riders have standing weekly schedules for dialysis, therapy, church services, or errands. Once it's set up, your driver shows up like clockwork.
When are you available?
Driving services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our office is open Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM for scheduling and questions.
